About: Founded in 2003, Mike Weiss Gallery was established as an innovative showcase for the presentation and promotion of strong, visceral, and visionary contemporary art worldwide. The gallery exhibited the work of international contemporary artists at all levels of their careers and development, and was instrumental in launching the earlier careers of Tom Fruin, Trudy Benson, Kim Dorland, Jansson Stegner, Allison Schulnick, and Oska Gutheil, as well as working with established artists including Hermann Nitsch, Ouattara Watts, Martin Wickström, Jerry Kearns and Marc Séguin. Located in the Chelsea Arts District of New York City on 24th Street until 2016, the gallery presented over 100 solo exhibitions, participated in numerous art fairs, and was reviewed by major publications including Artforum, ARTnews, Hyperallergic, Art in America, Interview, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times, amongst others. The gallery also produced Mike Weiss Editions for the publication of books, prints, and multiples by gallery artists.
