Michael Zelehoski's 'Object Permanence' opens October 15th at Backslash Gallery

Backslash gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Object Permanence, the first solo show in France by American artist Michael Zelehoski. Zelehoski challenges our perception of the physical world by collapsing found objects into pictorial space. The resulting compositions can be representational or abstract but always imbue the humble, utilitarian objects that he appropriates with new perspective and significance. Runs from October 15 to November 28, 2015.

WOOD a group exhibition featuring Damien Hoar de Galvan(MA), Harry Roseman (NY), Damion Silver (MA), Sally Tittmann (CT), and Michael Zelehoski (NY). Curated by gallery director Leonie Bradbury, the exhibition hosts contemporary art works that actively engage with the history and discourse of both sculpture and painting. Each artist questions the boundaries of these mediums as their work exists somewhere between the two and in the process aid to redefine the limitations of these terms. Runs from October 5 - December 5, 2015.
